The pipeline for progress in
any community is often found in the school system. Rittman's
pride in their educational offerings is an honest expression
of commitment to excellence. Students are exposed to a multitude
of programs as they progress from grade school through middle
school to high school. Education as a process includes the
elements of Mathematics, English and the Sciences while exposing
students to art, music, and physical education. A small classroom
atmosphere offers the opportunity for educators to work closely
with each student.
Special
instruction for high achievers is available as well as classes
for the developmentally handicapped and learning disabled.
A very competitive interscholastic sports program is offered
to student athletes to test their skills against other young
people in the Wayne County League.

In addition to the community
school system, high school students may elect to pursue vocational
training at the Wayne County Joint Career Center. Instruction
in carpentry, auto mechanics, food service, and other skilled
jobs are combined with a basic academic regimen to prepare
young people for immediate entry into the work force.
Post high school instruction
is available at a number of surrounding institutions. The
College of Wooster and Ashland University offer strong small
campus curriculums. Akron University and Kent State University--both
state funded institutions--offer a broad variety of undergraduate
and graduate programs. Wayne General and Technical College
and the Agricultural Technical Institute both offer 2-year
degrees in a number of specialized fields of training.
