New payment Option for several City Services

The city of Rittman operates under a Mayor / City Council / City Manager form of government.
Council consists of 6 individuals elected to four year staggered terms. The city manager is an
appointed position.

The municipality provides a complete package of government services. A full time police force provides the security within the confines of the city, while the Wayne County Sheriff monitors activity in the outlying areas. Detention facilities for the entire county are located 20 miles away.

Rittman carries the highest quality insurance rating (class 4) in the state for a volunteer fire department due to the outstanding equipment available and the conscientious commitment of 30 volunteers.

Likewise, 25 citizens commit their talents at no charge to operate a 24-hour-a-day Emergency Medical Service facility that can offer a response time averaging under 5 minutes. The police, fire, and EMS departments are all serviced by a full-time central dispatching unit, 911 emergency dialing service is available throughout Wayne County.
