The Utilities Department serves as the City's point of contact for their contracted trash service. Kimble Companies is our current contractor. Kimble provides each residence with carts for trash and recycling collection. The totes are barcoded to each specific address. The City has weekly trash and recycling pick-up every Tuesday. Refuse will appear as a line item on your monthly utilities invoice from the City of Rittman.
The dark green 95 gallon trash tote holds approximately 5 kitchen bags. An additional 10 bags of trash may be placed beside the trash tote for collection each week. All trash should be bagged, not loose.
The bright green tote is used for recycling. Items placed in the recycle tote should NOT be bagged.
Kimble will collect ONE bulk item per week. No need to contact them directly.
Furniture with cushions or bedding (mattresses, box springs) need to be completely wrapped in plastic, taped shut.
NO construction materials outside of the tote will be collected. (Drywall, wood, etc,)
Large items with glass will need to be secured with tape.
Totes should be placed on the tree lawn, near the curb with the lid opening of the tote toward the street. 3 feet apart.
If your trash or recycling is not picked up by the end of business on the assigned day, please call 330-925-2059.
Kimble is headquartered in Dover, Ohio, and is a family-owned and operated business that has served the region for over 70 years.
